Energy Efficiency Opportunities Program
The Energy Efficiency Opportunities Program is being developed at a national level by the Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources. From 2006, businesses using more than 0.5 petajoules of energy a year will be required by the Australian Government to complete an energy efficiency assessment and report publicly on the outcomes.
Currently legislation, program guidelines and assessment and reporting tools are being developed to facilitate the identification of energy efficiency opportunities by businesses.
The Program will also have common elements to the NSW Government's Energy Savings Action Plans requirements for big businesses in NSW.
