Demand Management Code of Practice
The Demand Management Code of Practice was developed to provide guidance to NSW electricity distributors in implementing the requirements of the NSW Electricity Supply Act 1995 to investigate and report on demand management strategies when it would be reasonable to expect that it "would be cost-effective to avoid or postpone the expansion [of a distribution system] by implementing such strategies".
Requests for Proposals (RFPs) are released for specific geographical areas where demand management options are being explored. In those areas where the demand management option is cost effective, financial incentives can be offered to electricity customers often up to $500 per kVA of peak electrical reduction.
Demand Manager has in-depth experience working on demand management projects in Australia including those at Castle Hill (Integral Energy), Binda Bigga (Country Energy) and Brookvale (Energy Australia). Demand Manager can assist your organisation maximise the benefits from energy efficiency projects where local electricity networks are constrained, including the negotiation of peak kVA value.
Demand Manager can also assist energy utilities design programs which will be commercially attractive to implement.
